The girls hard at work, feeding babies, putting away stores. The bright orange color that you see is pollen. Funny, they don't mix pollen. The shinny clear substance is probably royal jelly. Royal jelly is fed to all larvae for the first three days after hatching from the egg. Worker and drone larvae are then weaned on to a mixture of royal jelly, pollen and honey. Queen larvae are fed exclusively on royal jelly right up to the point the cells are capped and they pupate.
