Another pinner said: I wish I had seen this years ago!! Tape before caulking. Smooth out with finger. Then peel off the tape immediately, before it dries. Make sure to bathroom mold resistant caulk. You can also use a strong disposable glove like a medical exam. The thin poly gloves, do not work..
Freeze green onions in water bottles - shake out the right amount and return to the freezer! Handy Tip - I always end up buying so many green onions and recipes never call for more than 3 stalks :P (Make sure the onions are dry before going in the freezer to prevent the freezer burn)
Wrapping celery in foil will keep it fresh and crisp in your frig for weeks. You can get 7 wks out of broccoli and 6 out of head lettuce doing this too. Good to know! (Now all you have to do is remember what it is because you know you'll never look. ;-) )
MOLD-FREE BERRIES!! When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you want (though the mixture is so diluted I find you can't taste the vinegar,) and pop in the fridge. The vinegar kills any mold spores and other bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit.
