The Greek fir (Abies cephalonica) is native to the mountains of Greece that grows up to 35m tall with a 1m wide trunk. It was once widely used for construction but is now too rare. Most specimens are found in parks and large gardens in South Eastern Europe.
During a summer vacation to central California, one of the caches I found was inside an olive tree similar to this one. Living on the east coast, I had never seen an olive tree before and I thought they looked so cool.
