In order to convey the meaning of what a dancer is performing, hand gestures or Mudras are a significant complement to facial expressions/abhinaya. However, there are also Nritya Mudras, that are employed for the sake of beauty and decorative purposes while performing Nritya/dance. So vast are the hand gestures that it covers almost all the aspects of human life and the entire universe. Some are performed with a single hand while some may require the use of both hands.

6. veins/foreshortening because of it's various position, you cannot see the entirety of the hand. Depending on it's direction, it looks closer and can be drawn disproportionally in order to bee seen correctly.
