Great "get to know you" game. Everyone scoops a small dixie cup full of m’s. One at a time picked out a single m, and shared a thought that correlated with the color of the candy and the chart (ice breaker, not craft; large or small group)
Word Box - If a student doesn't know how to spell a word, they check the card in the box. If it's not there, they bring the card to the teacher. Teacher & student spell it together, & then the card goes back in its spot when they're done.
Word Work activities: She make a verb collage, but you could also make one with nouns, adjectives etc. Have students all bring in examples of each part of speech, then collage them to make separate classroom posters;
