There is something about the original Brown Derby restaurant on Wilshire Blvd that epitomizes golden-era Hollywood for me. And when I find a color shot of the place, it allows me to slip more easily into imagining what it must have been like to walk through that red door and “eat in the hat.” (And in my mind, I’d probably be driving the powder blue car parked on Alexandria Ave.)

I mean, it used to be that I had to bring celery and carrot sticks with me to eat at my boyfriend’s burger joints, but now it seems like every burger place is looking out for me, too!
