1970 Northrop M2-F3. Aircraft have been built without tails, without engines, and without fuselages. This Northrop M2-F3 is an example of an aircraft built without wings. It was part of the American Air Force and N.A.S.A's experiments into "lifting bodies", where the lift needed to fly was provided by the aircraft's fuselage itself.
