'Tudor Green' ware anthropomorphic baluster jug with green glaze. This is an example of a buffware with thick glassy darkgreen glaze, it has a degenerate mask decoration on the front. This type of jug was produced in Surrey. White-firing, sandy earthenwares were one of the main kinds of pottery used in London and its environs from the middle of the 13th until the 16th century. They were made at a number of sources in Surrey and along the Surrey-Hampshire borders.    Date:  1350 AD - 1500 AD
