The Wizard of Oz was always shown on a Sunday night. My mom always told me I could not watch it if I was going to cry. I promised her I wasn't going to cry. And when those monkeys started flying and Dorothy begged to go home, I started crying.
February Read: THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ. If you love the movie, read the book! It's very different-- starting with Dorothy's SILVER slippers. Let's not even get into the flying monkeys! I've loved the movie for as long as I can remember and am shocked how much it deviated from the book, but I love both in very different ways now. I wish the movie had the china village and the book had the ruby slippers. And as such, both are perfection!
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: L. Frank Baum. There’s a new Wizard of Oz prequel movie coming out, so I decided that I should read all the Oz books. I’ve never actually read them! I loved it. I love the fairy tale style. I love the characters. Overall, great! Can’t wait for the rest!
