The 20 Most-Anticipated Book Sequels of 2016

This series is based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth, who lived and worked as a midwife in the early 1960’s in London’s East End slums. The series explores the lives of the inhabitants of Nonatus House, both the young midwives and an order of the Anglican sisters devoted to nursing care, and those they care for. Many of the stories deal with the damage done to those dealing with unrelenting poverty, yet there are continuing glimpse of grace, mercy and joy.
