Sebastian Cabot (explorer) - Wikipedia

Sebastian Cabot was an Italian explorer, likely born in the Venetian Republic. He was the son of Italian explorer John Cabot and his Venetian wife Mattea.

Op 20 juni 1597 is hij op zee gestorven nadat hij en de bemanning de winter doorbrachten in het behouden huis op Nova Zembla. Zij moesten daar overwinteren omdat het schip vastliep in het ijs.

These species were sent out to Portugal, where they were later examined by several zoologists and botanists. Achieta died returning from an expedition to Caconda, in 1897, at 66 years of age, probably of malaria.
