We enjoy quite a few unprecedented technologies today, but much more of the stuff that we use has been around for ages. Ancient humans may not have been able to text or upload selfies, but they enjoyed everyday objects like flushable toilets, chewing gum and nice purses just like we do.
This is proof that great art is all around us, you just have to look for it… and try not to squish it with your shoe. London street artist Slinkachu has a series called Little People in which tiny ‘little hand-painted people are left in London to fend for themselves’.
To recreate this one, find a pair of sandals whose straps can "hide" under whatever ribbon you choose. Glue the ribbon to the straps using Fabri-Tac (if your shoes are leather) or the Ultimate (if they are manmade leather). More tips on glueing stuff to shoes at http://glittersweatshop.typepad.com
