This book cover shows excellent figure ground/negative space. The contours formed by the position of the fox serve as the shape of a boy, I'm assuming "Peter." This empty space also creates a wonderful focal point for the book title to nestle into.
"We turned to jazz music because jazz is the musical language of America in our time. Modern poetry was born at the same time as modern jazz, and both have had a similar history. Both aimed at freeing their art from the strait jacket of the printing press: in the case of poetry, from the printed page, in the case of jazz, from the printed score".
