USN Chief Petty Officer Edward Wartzleff was one of only 335 survivors of the USS Arizona which sunk after exploding during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec 1177 crew members perished. Wartzleff died Sept 2013 at the age of

USS Arizona: The U. Army removed gun turrets three and four for use as coastal defense batteries (although by the time this project was finished in the war had moved into the western Pacific and Hawai'i was no longer at threat from invasion).
