Here's a game where students "capture" multiplication facts with equal factors on a coordinate grid.

A fun way to practice multiplying doubles and develop fluency with a Social Studies twist. Students roll dice to get grid coordinates. They use the coordinates to read and capture spaces on the grid. I included directions to create your own dice.

Common Core: Be Wise-Subitize, Developing Instant Recognition of Quantities. The ability to subitize, or instantly recognize small arrangements of items, is a foundational math skill. A few minutes of highly engaging practice each day is all it takes to develop this skill.  This group of cards includes dice patterns, tally marks, hearts, and finger patterns. Includes instructions for how to use the cards in the classroom.  Great for whole group or small group instruction. $

Multiplication Facts Assessments and Brag Tags Here is a great CCSS Aligned resource for your classroom:  Operations Algebraic Thinking 3.OA.C7  These multiplication assessments may be used for Pre-Assessments, Post Assessments, and speed practice.  Research shows that timed tests actually increase math fact fluency.  There are 10 Karate belt levels of Brag Tags for recognition when students master a level.

Sometimes when a child struggles in math - we avoid speed games - but this one can be played alone- with a group - or with a parent. Its great practice and a great morale booster for the taunting math speed games! Would also work with addition.
