Sabina was converted to Christianity by her Syrian servant Serapia. During the persecution of Emperor Hadrian, Serapia suffered martyrdom for her Christian Faith. It is believed that St. Sabina was murdered for the Faith about a month later. The reknowned basilica on the Aventine in Rome is dedicated to and named after her.

Dec 3...St. Francis Xavier is the Apostle of the Far East and is considered the greatest missionary since the time of the Apostles, and the zeal he displayed, the wonderful miracles he performed, and the great number of souls he brought to the light of true Faith, entitle him to this distinction.
During the terrible persecutions in Korea (in 1839, 1866, and 1867), 103 Christians were martyred. The martyrs included a few bishops, priests and many lay people. Among them were the first Korean priest Andrew Kim Taegon, and the lay apostle, Paul Chong Hasang. All suffered greatly for the Faith and consecrated the rich beginnings of the Church of Korea with their blood as martyrs. St Pope John Paul II, canonized these martyrs on May 6, 1984.
