Ammolite in the Rough. This piece of ammolite is still on its host matrix and has not been processed into jewelry. To do that requires an infusion of hardening epoxy to harden the gem material because is soft as in a pearl. Then it has to be cut properly and go through an exhaustive polishing process before it goes from being a specimen to a gem. Or it might be kept as is for followers of Feng Shui who attach much importance to Ammolite.
