So was our beer as kickass as our movie? It kinda was, to be honest. The Bruery’s Mischief Belgian Strong Ale is an easy-drinking, high ABV beer that, in my totally unprofessional opinion, would appeal to drinkers across the spectrum.
The aroma of the beer, amplified and concentrated by the shape of the tulip glass produced tones of pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves, bananas, and apples. It was like a typical pumpkin beer you see in the fall, but earthier and fruity. The taste wasn't much different. Again, pumpkin and spices, some fruitiness, a hint of hoppy bitterness, and just the slightest taste of alcohol were all present. It also had a bit of a marshmallow taste that I attributed to the yams.
Mischief is similar to Upright's Five or Seven but it is a shame because it pales in comparison to both. I almost wish I never even heard of Upright so I could enjoy the average American-Belgian beer like you common plebes. 4.25 out of 5. Drink it, if you can't get some Upright.
