Shergar - Kidnapped in Ireland in February 1983, just before his second stud season. Shergar was abducted by an IRA unit who killed him a few days later.

An earlier book entitled "The Aga Khan's Horses" by R. C. Lyle and beautifully illustrated by Lionel Edwards (English, b. 1878, d. 1966) and published in April of 1938. This sketch is of Bahram, undefeated winner of the English Triple Crown in 1935, who was foaled in Ireland at the Aga Khan's stud.
