Mauritius Blue Pigeons lived side by side with Dodo's. They managed to hold out a little longer, living with humans for 200 years until the last one was seen in the 1830's. They are not a character in any famous children's tale but they surely could be with their brilliant coloration and fluffy head feathers. I really enjoy bringing these extinct creatures back to life through woodcuts. image size 13" x 17"paper size 20" x 24"
