Louise of Hesse (1817 – 1898) was a German Princess & (from 1863) the queen consort to King Christian IX of Denmark. She was a daughter of Prince William of Hesse & Charlotte of Denmark (1789–1864). Her mother, a Princess of Denmark, saw her become Hereditary Princess of Denmark & then Queen of Denmark. Louise had six children with Christian. Eventually, they had thirty-nine grandchildren.
