The Great Carina Nebula. A jewel of the southern sky, the Great Carina Nebula, also known as NGC spans over 300 light-years, one of our galaxy's largest star forming regions.

Bubble Nebula (NGC 7635) | "It is literally a cavity, an evacuated region, left behind as the stellar wind from the star expands. It’s huge, roughly 10 light years across. That’s 100 trillion kilometers (60 trillion miles), hundreds of thousands of times the size of our entire solar system." | Dr. Phil Plait

A new image from NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer completes a multi-wavelength, neon-colored portrait of the enormous Cartwheel galaxy after a smaller galaxy plunged through it, triggering ripples of sudden, brief star formation.

NGC 7822. A young star forming complex in the constellation of Cepheus. The complex encompasses the emission region designated Sharpless 171, and the young cluster of stars named Berkeley 59. The complex is believed to be some 800-1000 pc distant, with the younger components aged no more than a few million years. .. pp
