Jackie Ormes (1911  1985) was a cartoonist illustrator and artist from #Pittsburgh. Ormes creator of the popular "Torchy Brown" and "Patty-Jo 'n' Ginger" newspaper comic series is regarded as the first female African American cartoonist.
