June 7th, 2013 With the rain holding things up we're still working around the clock trying to get all of the cuttings in the ground. Luckily some of our fields have been able to drain enough to get our crew back in the field. Today the crew is back in action working hard and will be through the weekend. We expect to be finished planting all of the hard wood cuttings in the ground and hope they take off as a few of our other fields have!

May 26th, 2013, Here is another photo of some planting we were able to accomplish with all of this nice weather we have been lucky enough to have this weekend. It's a good thing we got it in while we could as weary weather seems to be lying ahead! These are blackberries that have been planted. Notice the stakes say "roots." This is because when propagating blackberries you trim off a root from the existing plant and replant it in the field.

May 25th, 2013, Heading into the long weekend we're feeling pretty good about everything we've got in the ground after this week. To recap some of our planting here is a photo of some rhubarb we were able to get in the ground and is nicely already leafing out! With a newly prepared field and organized planting this years rhubarb growth has set off on the right foot. If things continue in this direction we should have plenty of availability for next year!

May 11th, 2013, We just couldn't resist sharing this photo with our loyal Facebook fans. Even on Saturdays our crew is up bright and early trying to take care of loose ends left over from the week and to pull vines for customers who have arranged to pick up their vines over the weekend. This morning we had the pleasurable company of this beautiful sunrise as we begun our day. I've got to say if there is work to be done over the weekend then there's no better way to start the day!

November 12th, 2012 With the weather being as nice as it has been this weekend and into today our crew has been putting in the extra hours and digging through the weekend to get everything up out of the ground. Today things seem to be moving at a nice brisk pace with frequent visits from vine filled semis. The men running our forklifts have also been moving as fast as they can to ensure that all vines are nicely stored. Here is an update of our storage unit and all the vine filled bays.

June 1st, 2013 It's hard to believe it's already June! Shipping has winded down and planting has been in full swing for a couple weeks now that the weather seems to want to cooperate. Here is Juan delivering another bundle of cuttings that will be planted in the ground today. We've had to have our crew work weekend hours through planting this year due to a surplus of cuttings!

September 24th, 2012 Adam and Kirk (Double A Vineyards harvesting partner) go over shipment details with Gary our truck driver from Rizzo Trucking. During Welch’s harvesting we typically do around 4 loads a day for 2-3 weeks (weekends included) with each load consisting of 20 one-ton boxes of grapes.

May 6th, 2013, With such nice weather and such a successful and strenuous shipping season reaching it's final few weeks we couldn't help but show you some of the fun we had during our down time this weekend! Here's Abe's catch of the day! Or should I say, one of! This big guy is a 21 pound King Salmon caught on Lake Ontario. It took a little over 15 minutes to bring this baby in! Way to go Abe, enjoy dinner!

July 27th, 2013 It's the weekend again! Which means, it's time to share one of our customer photos that was submitted. You may have caught it on our wall a week or so ago but just to highlight the great work our customers are doing we will post it again! This photo was submitted by Chuck Chowns a customer from Lederach, Pennsylvania. It was taken in his vineyard which they call, High Point Vineyard. It sure looks like they will have a decent crop this year! Beautiful photo!
