the Hansol Museum is a modular structure made with local limestone. In addition to its extensive modern art collection, the building hosts Archway by Alexander Liberman over the pathway to its entrance. Finished in 2013, the museum is also surrounded by a tiered water garden.
Inspired by the craggy peaks of the Rocky Mountains, the Frederic C. Hamilton Building at the Denver Art Museum is an extension of the institution’s original building by Gio Ponti in 1971. The titanium-clad structure, which opened in 2006, houses the museum’s Oceanic and African art, as well as its Modern and Contemporary collection.
The largest school for contemporary dance in the world, the Laban Dance Centre in London opened in 2003 with an exterior clad in glass and translucent polycarbonate panels in light shades of lime, turquoise, and magenta. The building’s interior was inspired by urban landscapes and features courtyard-like meeting spaces and “streets.”
