My second Anton DiSclafani experience did not disappoint. She knows how to draw the setting perfectly (in this case, 1950's Houston), from every silk nightgown to orange couch. She's best at developing a sensual atmosphere, built on mild obsession and secrets. Loved the story, loved the pacing.
The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins: I highly recommend this large tome. It's worth your time. I love a mystery that I am unable to unravel until the author allows. And this kept me rapt until the last.
