Designed by Catherine Walker, this white silk-crepe sheath dress and matching high-collared jacket is embroidered all over with simulated pearls and white sequins. Diana debuted the gown at The British Fashion Awards on October 17, 1989. She wore it again on November 8, 1989 to the opening of the Hong Kong Cultural Center. The princess also wore it without the jacket on May 7, 1990 on a state visit to Hungary. This gown is lot #78 and it raised $ 151,000 for Diana's charities.
