Put up a sign in your room or by your door that shows students what you are currently reading. Take it a step further and put them at every classroom and office door including administration and staff. Use locker tags for students to share their current reads.

Book cover banner - great use for all of those hardcover dust jackets. This would be the ideal reason to sort book covers by color, make it seasonal.

I think that the children would really be drawn to this activity.  Not only would you be teaching about colors but also about what kinds of materials are manipulatable by heat and what kind of reaction you get when those two elements are combined.

Essentially, you affix crayons to the top of a canvas, and blast them with a hair dryer. Watch as the colors bleed down the canvas, creating a beautiful, colorful mess! I can imagine this being a great project to hang in a child's room. This is very cool!
