Gerhard Richter- Richter uses squidgy's to create the layered and blurred textures in his artwork, his paintings are in large scale so the impact of the abstract art becomes apparent. the colours chosen complement each other well. you can see where Richter adds a new layer each time as you can see where he has turned the canvas. the light paint under layer is effective with the bright bold over layers adding depth into the piece.
