The Chewstick Foundation will send a team of young Bermudian poets to compete against others from across the world in the 17th Annual Brave New Voices Poetry and Spoken Word Competition taking place in Philadelphia. To experience their art for yourself, visit the City of Hamilton today, where students will recite poetry at various locations, or go to their poetry showcase at the Chewstick Lounge at the corner of Elliot Street and Court Street tomorrow evening.

Antoine Hunt, Bermudian artist, has opened an exhibit at the Bermuda National Gallery’s Biennial at City Hall. His photography has led him to pursue interesting new topics, such as seeing food preparation and alcohol distillation with an anthropological perspective, calling himself drawn "more and more to long form documentary". His work will be shown as part of the 11th annual Bermuda National Gallery Biennial show.

Author and motivational speaker Marvelyn Brown will share her fight for acceptance and respect and her experience living as HIV positive at a public forum tomorrow from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Bermudian health care professionals with HIV patient care experience and a representative from STAR (an AIDS counselling service on island) will also speak at the event at the Bermuda Society of Arts in City Hall.

The progressive rock band Sonique Sanctuary is releasing their new album, Resilience, Friday at a special release party at Taste at 141 Front Street in the City of Hamilton at 8pm. Nick Wadson, Oliver (Ace) Cepeda and Dr Traceylynne Harney make up the three-person band, which they started in 2011 to display high-level musical technical proficiency.
