Figurative language

Figurative Language - This video is probably my favorite. The person who put it together is a teacher, and his sense of humor is obvious with the use of calmer music, etc. My students laughed so hard throughout the entire thing...and I teach 9th/10th grade, so that's saying a lot!

Wonderful figurative language video using pop music and movies! Great for middle school and high school!

I give each of the kids a page with a different idiom on it and then we put all the pages together to make a class book. They love to check it out from the book bin!

Will Ferrell on Figurative Language. Thanks, Will Ferrell (and the teacher who made this). Probably the most successful lesson on this subject I've ever taught... and I didn't even have to teach it.

Figurative Language - GREAT video!! I prepared a worksheet for my students. They copied down parts in the lyrics that were similes or metaphors, identified each according to what it was and then wrote what the artist was comparing...the true meaning behind the words. My students sat on the edges of their seats waiting for each song! It was a very engaging way to teach these literary devices!
