Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. African literature at its best. Things Fall Apart tells two intertwining stories, both centering on Okonkwo, a “strong man” of an Ibo village in Nigeria.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. A thousand times better than the movie., it's a page turner Worth Reading to Read

I have been carrying this book around for years, all the while I have been dying to read it. This summer definitely feels like a "Gone with the wind" season.

Gone with the wind, Margaret Mitchell. Long book, but definitely worth the time. Much better than the movie, of course.

In Cold Blood. Positively brilliant.

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. If you've ever taken a journalism class, you've probably read Truman Capote's seminal nonfiction book about a murder in a quiet town, "In Cold Blood." It's a classic for a reason. Everyone should read it.

On the SA summer reading list...great book!

Catcher in the Rye is one of my all time favorite books. Holden Caulfield has to be one of the most interesting literary characters ever written.

Their fates were linked by the magical Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, nicknamed the “White City” for its majestic beauty. Architect Daniel Burnham built it; serial killer Dr. H. H. Holmes used it to lure victims to his World’s Fair Hotel, designed for murder. Both men left behind them a powerful legacy, one of brilliance and energy, the other of sorrow and darkness.

The Devil In The White City by Erik Larson-Historical fiction set at the Chicago World's Fair. Learned alot about architecture and Chicago World's Fair . Also a crime novel about the first Chicago serial killer.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson // The Swedish title is "Män som hatar kvinnor," meaning "Men Who Hate Women." And that is what the storylines boil down to - horrible men and a woman who fights back. Full of mystery and suspense and flawed characters you have to love. Best part? There are 2 other books to enjoy after this one.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson. It will be interesting to see how the movie turns out.
