In 1989 I was in Beijing in a street market near the Chinese Tradition Music School. In the market I found chops just like the ones I saw in Taiwan for 300 US a piece. We bargained with the vendor which is customary in China. I bought 6 of them for only 3 dollars apiece. I couldn’t believe it. Today our modern dental tools are used so it doesn’t take months to carve them anymore. It is possible to buy these beautiful chops everywhere at reasonable prices.
