Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz - TV's pioneering couple. As producer of "I Love Lucy" Desi Arnaz was responsible for transforming Lucy from former movie star/glamour girl to comic genius and the Queen of Television.

Lucille Ball (1911-1989) was an American actress, comedienne, model, film-studio executive, and producer. Began her career in 1929 as a model. She began moved on the stage and later appeared in minor roles in the 30s/40s. She met Cuban bandleader Desi Arnaz in 1940. In the 1950´s, they created the sitcom I Love Lucy. In 1962, Ball became the 1st woman to run a major television studio, Desilu Productions, which produced many popular tv series, including Mission: Impossible and Star Trek.

Younger people who remember Lucille Ball as "I Love Lucy" often don't know she was a stunning beauty as a young model and actress.
