Desert Reefers - When this photo was made in June 1972, it was unusual to see a solid train of ice reefers on the Santa Fe Transcon. This is one of those rare occasions as SD24s 4567 and 4575 lift a string of reefers out of the Colorado River Valley at Klinefelter, California. Klinefelter, nothing more than a house or two, is located west of Needles between Java and Ibis on the laborious climb toward the summit at Goffs.
