A lot of atheists will say that religion or Christianity is a crutch for weak minded people and for some false converts or cult followers that may be indeed be the case. This may also be the case for those who treat Christianity as an experiment or an insurance policy. However for the born again Christian, the true believer, it is no crutch but a sure anchor for the soul. Tom Stoppard said it pointedly when he said, "Atheism is a crutch for those who cannot bear the reality of God."
Imagine 1050 blind persons each with a scrambled Rubik's cube, and try to conceive of the chance of them all simultaneously arriving at the solved form. You then have a chance of arriving by random shuffling, of just one of the many biopolymers on which life depends. The notion that not only the biopolymers but the operating program of a living cell could be arrived at by chance in a primordial organic soup here on the Earth is evidently nonsense of a high order.
Let's be scientifically honest with ourselves, the probability of having life arise to greater and greater complexity and organization by chance is the same probability of having a tornado tear through a junkyard and form out the other end a Boeing 747. - Sir Fred Hoyle.
