"On This Night" for Hachai Publishing, Wendy Edelson

Unscheduled and Chartered Flights with Wendy Edelson

Bubbe is interrupted while she is making charoses for the Passover seder. While she chats on the phone, family members wander into the kitchen and add their own "special ingredient" to spice up the mixture. As a result of too many cooks, the "charoses is atrocious!" An amusing introduction to the festive Passover meal.

Too Many Cooks Author: Edie Stoltz Zolkower Illustrator: Shauna Mooney Kawasaki Oops! Each family member adds his or her favorite ingredients to the Passover charoses, until the finished product is something no one would choose to eat!

“The Seder” Phyllis Serota: This is an early painting, which I painted after hosting my first seder. It was a wonderful night for me—a real celebration of being Jewish after a long period of separation from my roots.
