Paul Thiel, a ninety one year old naval architect who lives in Seattle has created human powered boats since his teenage years.  The 18 foot 6 inch by 6 foot Escargot can do three to four knots on calm water at a reasonably easy pedaling rate. Mike and Laura's tiny house is built on a trailer, helping avoid development and permit fees. It sits in the back yard of a house in Portland, which they own and now rent to supplement their income.
