AMCOL Corporate Headquarters (Hoffman Estates, Illinois): CDF designed the AMCOL site to LEED Silver standards. The design routes rain water from the parking area into bioswales of native vegetation & rain gardens. Intensive & extensive green roofs also work to retain excess rain water. The cumulative advantage of these stormwater management strategies minimizes the site's impact on the downstream ecosystems.

Johnson Controls Headquarters (Glendale, Wisconsin): With a stream & wetlands bisecting the property, water conservation & re-use are especially significant. Rain water runoff from roofs & permeable pavement is collected & reused for toilet & urinal flushing or diverted into rain gardens & a decorative pond. 13 acres of lawn were replaced with a diverse native prairie plants & walking trails. These sustainable site strategies resulted in a net reduction in impervious cover for the campus.

ASLA Green Roof (Washington, D.C.): The American Society of Landscape Architects replaced its headquarters' 3,300 square foot roof with an accessible green roof to demonstrate its benefits & the principal of stewardship & education on which ASLA was founded. CDF worked with Michael VanValkenberg's office to design & engineer extensive & semi-intensive green roof systems. The ASLA intends monitors the roof's rain water retention performance & temperature.

Tellabs Naperville Corporate Headquarters (Naperville, Illinois): Through the use of innovative stormwater collection & treatment systems, in combination with the natural water conserving attributes of the deeprooted native plants, CDF restored a pre-settlement form of hydrology back to the site. This mimics the groundwater-dominated pattern of hydrology that was prevalent historically throughout the region.
