WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A woman suffered serious injuries after a shooting Thursday morning in Williamsburg. Police say they responded to a reported shooting around 9 a.m. on Mt. Morgan Road and found Natasha Archer on the ground. She was shot in the shoulder. Archer was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for serious injuries where she is stable. Police say the shooter is Chris Creekmore, but it may have been accidental.
Hunting accident: A 16-year-old male suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound while hunting and trapping with his grandfather. A report indicates the juvenile swung a.22 caliber rifle around and accidentally discharged a round into his lower left leg. The incident occurred near the Tres Hermanas Mountains. The juvenile was transported to Mimbres Memorial Hospital and treated locally.
