HMS Sheen, one of the Admiralty Class drifters built during World War. Armed with a single 6 pdr gun these drifters were to be used as Minesweepers and Patrol Vessels. Deliberatly designed to be suitable fo sale as fishing vessels once the war was over. HMS Sheen was built in 1918 and commissioned 11.05.18. She had the distinction of also serving in WW II as a Torpedo recovery vessel and was finally sold in 1946

1907; Mauretania & Turbinia (1894) meet on the river Tyne after Turbinia was repaired from a collision with the Crosby. Turbinia was the first steam turbine ship in the world. Mauretania & Lusitania utilized the same Paraons turbine technology to become the fastest ships of their day. They were the only ocean liners with "direct drive turbines" to ever win the Blue Ribband.
