Doscher's Candies was founded in 1871 by Claus Doscher, A German immigrant. He started with carmel corn (like Cracker Jacks) and his first customer was the Cincinnati Redstockings. In the early 1900's Claus discovered a new candy being introduced in France that was making big news; taffy. After several years of testing, the French Chew was perfected & was a big hit with the locals.
