Student made poinsettia...Beautiful touch.

Student made poinsettia.

This bilingual book by Pat Mora is written in Spanish and English. It's about about a young and poor Mexican boy who participates in the festivities of Las Posadas and every night shares Mexican treats and fun stories with his aunt and dog. In the end Carlos was sad that he was only able to give Baby Jesus a small gift, but to his surprise the small plant grew into beautiful bright red flowers. This book would be great to use on a lesson about different Christmas traditions around the world.

"Mora and Berg's Christmas story takes you into the heart of a Latin American Christmas with its sensitive telling of the abject plight of Carlos, poor like the drummer boy. What happens to Carlos.is the magic of the story." —Catholic Library World
