chalkboard countertops, chalkboard paint, countertops, diy, how to, kitchen design, On the second day I was excited to use the Matte Black Chalkboard Paint 1 quart I let the paint dry overnight again I woke up to beautiful stone like counters I couldn t be more pleased
I created my own ‘soapstone’ counter. I specified to the cabinet maker that the counter top be made from furniture grade plywood with a 2” edge band. I then painted it with chalkboard paint using a slightly rough sponge roller. I let it dry, then lightly sanded it down, defining the mottled quality of the paint. I then finished it by sealing with paste wax.The paste wax is Howard's Citrus Shield. I found it at Home Depot.
