The Shining!!! Another one of my top 5 horror movies of all times! Stephen Kings writing, Kubrick's style and Jack Nicholson's brilliant psychosis makes this one of the best movies ever!!! I know that King was not happy about how it came out and did a remake that was more to his liking, but it was definitely not as brilliant or intense as the original.

The Shining (1980)

Scariest movie- ever! (also from a Stephen King story.I couldn't read the book -- too scary!
