The 37-year-old guard selected in the first round of the 1996 draft out of high school is finishing up his 20th season in L.A.  a record for the most years played with a single team. I used to play RMF football from the age of 11-13. My days of playing were cut short however, as I broke my wrist during a regular season game in the fall. Following a trip to the Emergency Room, I received a splint, which would be followed by am arm brace, and finally a cast over the next 3 following months.

Columbia Park AKA:  Columbia Avenue Grounds Philadelphia Athletics 1901 - 1908The start-up Athletics found a home in Brewerytown in northern Philadelphia for the team's first eight years.  But their popularity outgrew the park, and they moved into a new stadium named after the team's owner, Ben Shibe, and complete with actual dugouts in 1909.

During warmups, about 10 minutes before puck drop, a friendly shot appeared to breach the padding in Bishop's stomach/groin region, bringing the hulking goalie to the ice in a heap. Bishop took an early trip to the dressing room, prompting some questions over whether he would be OK to start the game.
