After the death of Countess Maria Coudenhove-Kalergi the jewels were again auctioned off in 2001 and purchased by the jewelry firm Fred Leighton. The necklace and earrings were worn by Joan Rivers to the Acadent Awards a year or so after the sale.

| THE HABSBURG FRINGE TIARA | It is thought to have been a wedding gift to H.I.R.H. Archduchess Maria Theresia of Austria, (1855-1944) for her 1873 marriage to H.I.R.H. The Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria (1833-96), brother of H.I.R.M. Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria (1830-1916). Tiara attributed to Archduchess Maria Annunciata of Austria (13 July 1876 - 8 April 1961) - daughter of Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria and his third wife Infanta Maria Theresa of Portugal. She became Abbess of the Theresia Convent in the Hradschin, Prague.
