Love this place - City Hall subway station. If you ride the 6 train to the end of the line and get off at the Brooklyn Bridge stop, you're missing out on something incredible. As the train loops around to go back uptown, it passes through an abandoned and beautifully preserved City Hall station from 1904.
I think that a father son bond is very Important. (I saw tv interview in which one of his sons asked for new soccer cleats & avid Beckham said to his son "then get a job". I love that! Best parents: teaching kids value of ethics & morals. I admire that. -Mari)
unexpected art, from the NYTimes. The writer talks about art he sees from the Q train. And lauds the street artist known as "Poster Boy" These are serendipitous interruptions to everyday life, how can we do it intentionally?
City Hall Subway Station New York, New York An architectural gem in New York City, hop on the 6 train and stay on past the Brooklyn Bridge stop. As the train loops around you'll pass by gorgeously decorated arches, skylights, intricate colored glass tilework, and burnished brass light fixtures in the now-unused City Hall station. The station was opened in 1904 and was meant to be the crown jewel of the new subway. the station was closed in 1945. The abandoned beauty is well worth it.
