Almost every interior surface of the stave church at Uvdal, Norway, is covered in traditional rosemåling, or “rose painting” from the 17th century. While the paintings are unsigned, there were apparently three different painters who are referred to as the “red painter” the “blue painter” and the “green painter” due to the color scheme employed by each. There is also a small open air museum of local buildings from Numedal.
