Natural pools at Kuang Si Falls, Luang Prabang, Laos. I (Sheila Horstman Maassen) was backpacking around the world for 6 months and this is one of the most beautiful places I swam during that time. I can totally recommend visiting this place.

gorgeous vintage woven sarong borders from Laos which could be recycled as pillow covers -- I unfortunately didn't buy textiles when we visited Laos, ugh! Good excuse to go back some day!

Xieng Khuan is a Buddha park in Vientiane, Laos by the Mekong River. Referred to as Wat Xieng Khuan means Spirit City. At the top, where the entire park is visible an enormous 40m high reclining Buddha, also a park attraction. The reclining posture may represent the Buddha resting but usually represents the mahāparinabbāna: the Buddha's final state of enlightenment before his death.

My friend June recently came back from a work trip to Thailand. The first thing she said to me was that besides all the mesmerizing views her favourite place to visit was the Damnoen Saduak floating market. It’s a colourful gem hidden near Bangkok.
